Attenuators absorb RF power where known insertion loss is required. Frequently are used as matching sections between generator and load, resonant curcuits etc. Overflowing power is abrorbed by a resistive layer. The layer is preserved by impregnation. Inner surfaces are preserved by anticorrosive conductive layer, outer surfaces are painted. Standard attenuation values are -3 dB, -6 dB, -10 dB and -20 dB. Attenuation value slightly varies with frequency. Calibration curves are enclosed to attenuators. Calibration accuracy is 0.1 dB |
